MESSAGES FROM GOD

Welcome to the Scripture Box.

Part 1

Part 2

Can I tell you something?

There are still seasons when the scriptures feel hard for me.

Not because I doubt them or don't believe they are true. But because life is busy, my mind is distracted, and sometimes I simply don't know where to begin.

What does it actually take to fall in love with the scriptures? Maybe you've wondered the same thing.

Over time, my love for the scriptures has grown. Not because I've read more pages, but because I've found ways to make them more personal.

Years ago, I had the thought to remember chapters instead of memorizing individual verses. I figured if I could remember where to go, I'd always find what I needed when I got there. Over time, those chapters have become trusted friends—places I return to again and again.

Alma 32 reminds me to plant the seed and trust the process. Alma 34 teaches me that now is the time to come unto Christ. Mosiah 24 reminds me that God doesn't always remove our burdens, but because of our covenants, He will strengthen us to bear them. In 3 Nephi 11, I find myself standing at the feet of the Savior as He invites us to come unto Him. Ether 12 reminds me that faith always comes before the miracle and that weakness can become strength through Christ. Moroni 10 encourages me to ask, seek, and trust the whisperings of the Holy Ghost. Doctrine and Covenants 25 and 84 call me to a higher way of discipleship, while Section 88 never fails to fill me with hope and vision. Proverbs 31 has become a quiet mentor through so many seasons of womanhood. When I want to remember the heart of Jesus Christ, I return to the New Testament. Every page reminds me how He treated people, how He taught truth, and how He loved perfectly.

These are my power scriptures. My power chapters. The places I return to when I need to remember who God is and who I am because of Him.

It's amazing how even one verse can steady a worried heart. One principle can redirect an entire day, an entire thought process, or literally change your perspective forever

When I was younger, I watched women who loved the scriptures. I can still picture them teaching with open scriptures resting in the palm of their hands. Their pages were worn, marked, and filled with notes. They didn't just know the scriptures—they knew the God of the scriptures. I remember thinking, “I want to become a woman like that.”

Now, years later, I still want to be that woman.

I've learned that kind of relationship doesn't happen just because. It comes from showing up. Opening the book. Becoming familiar with the stories. Asking questions. Looking for God's voice instead of simply checking off a chapter.

Some of my favorite moments still happen early in the morning, when the house is quiet and my scriptures remain open on the table, almost beckoning me to come back. There is something reverent about creating a place where heaven knows it can find you. I love the thought of signaling to the Lord that I am ready to receive.

The Scripture Box is more than a collection of study tools and reminders. It’s an invitation to open the scriptures, ask Him what He wants you to see, and then give Him a chance to answer.
