YOU WERE MADE FOR THIS
Welcome to the Becoming Box.
There is something sacred about standing on the edge of a new season.
The older I get, the more I realize that God is far less concerned with where I am than He is with who I am becoming. Looking back, I can see His hand in every chapter of my life, gently giving me opportunities to discover more of who He created me to be. What felt like change at the time was often an invitation to grow into someone I couldn't have become any other way.
I've come to realize that nearly every meaningful season of my life has really been a season of becoming.
As a teenage girl, I wondered who I wanted to be. As a young adult, I wrestled with decisions that would shape my future. Then came marriage, motherhood, raising little ones, navigating the busy years of school-age children and teenagers, and now the unexpected joy of watching my own children become parents while I get to be "Mems" to a sweet grandson. Every stage of life has required something different of me, and each one has shaped me in ways I never expected.
What I've learned is that growth rarely happens by accident. It happens when we're willing to be taught—by the Spirit, by experience, and by Him.
Some of my hardest seasons have become my holiest. They have softened my heart, stretched my faith, and helped me become more understanding, more resilient, and more compassionate. Looking back, I would choose every one of them again because I wouldn't trade who the Lord has helped me become through them.
I like myself better having been through it all.
The seasons that have changed me most were the ones where I intentionally slowed down long enough to reflect, write, pray, and invite the Lord into the process. Asking honest questions, recording impressions, and looking for His hand has changed the direction of my life more than once.
That's why I love the idea behind the Becoming Box.
It isn't simply a collection of beautiful things. It's an experience. An invitation to dedicate a season of your life to discovering who the Lord is helping you become. And maybe it isn't just for this season, but for every season as they ebb and flow throughout your life.
Imagine setting aside intentional time to ask questions and ponder who you'd like to become. As you write, reflect, and seek personal revelation, something remarkable begins to happen. Your focus shifts. Instead of becoming consumed with what you need to accomplish, you begin to see more clearly who you're becoming. And once you know who you want to become, it's easier to recognize what needs to change in your daily habits, priorities, and choices.
The Lord rarely reveals an entire lifetime at once.
At least he hasn’t for me. Instead, He unfolds it little by little. As we seek Him, He opens our eyes to see what He sees. The Holy Ghost gently changes our hearts, our perspective, and even the way we see ourselves.
Becoming is a lifelong journey. It isn't rushed, and it isn't finished in one season. Every prayer, every journal entry, every quiet impression plants another seed that the Lord can grow in His own time.
If you find yourself standing on the edge of something new, perhaps this is your invitation. Slow down. Reflect. Seek Him. Dream with God about who you can become.
Because He already knows who you're becoming.
The invitation is simply to discover it with Him.
